"We don't intend to reveal who the wicketkeeper of first choice is," Ford said. "There's an ongoing competition among the players. There's a lot of effort which is done before games, such as match-ups and left hand vs. right hand. What could be a good pick for one match could differ from the next game. It is necessary to conduct quite a bit of study of the squads of opponents and once we know the players in these teams, we can determine the match-ups that we will be analyzing and not always based on the basis of statistics or other factors such as that. We must consider the conditions. We will be watching the IPL extremely closely, especially towards the final stages to the IPL to determine how the wickets play and that all goes into the selection. It's an 18-man team with options and cover."
In Ireland's T20 World Cup preparations, Ireland will also play two official warm-up games in opposition to Papua New Guinea (12 October) and Bangladesh (14 October).
