Scotland on the 9th of September announced their team for the forthcoming ICC Men's T20 World Cup with Kyle Coetzer all set to be the captain, and ex- England player Jonathan Trott roped in as batsman consultant. Scotland will announce their final 15-member squad before 10 October and will have two reserve players also joining the squad.

The 40-strong list includes the most experienced players such as Kyle Coetzer, Richard Berrington, Callum Macleod, Ally Evans and Safyaan Sharif as well as youngsters who are forming the Scotland Performance Academy system, along with a wide range of players who are currently taking part in county cricket within England.

The 40 players will be featured in a test series during August, before the squad that is going to compete in the World Cup is announced later in the month. Each player named on the list will get the chance to participate for the first time in the series and will have the possibility of playing in the World Cup.
The Scottish side will be made up of veteran players Richie Berrington, Calum Macleod, Safyaan Sharif, Matthew Cross and Ally Evans, who will be guided by Kyle Coetzer. Former England batsman, Jonathan Trott has been appointed as a batting coach for the team. Trott's previous experience at the World Cups and the Ashes series will allow the team to prepare for the pressure of situations and adjust to the requirements of ICC tournaments.
"Our group of eight managers has been carefully chosen to meet the requirements of the team and ensure that they are prepared for the competition. The addition of seasoned Jonathan Trott, who will join the team prior to the beginning in the World Cup, demonstrates our intention," he added.
